Genesis Martial Arts and Fitness

Genesis Martial Arts and Fitness is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu and kickboxing academy at 2313 West Railway Street, Unit 102, in Abbotsford, British Columbia. It is part of the Cobrinha affiliation, with Rubens "Cobrinha" Charles listed as its affiliation chief instructor. Owner and head instructor Jason Gagnon is one of the few black belts under Cobrinha. His titles include two IBJJF World bronze medals at black belt in the Master 1 division, a European championship, two American Nationals titles and the Asian Open, and he still competes internationally and teaches seminars. Jiu-jitsu classes are offered for preschoolers aged 3 to 5, kids aged 6 to 9, teens aged 10 to 15 and adults, with fundamentals classes for beginners on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, morning and evening gi classes, no-gi classes, open mats and a women's-only class on Saturdays. Competition training is available for kids and adults, along with private and group lessons. Kickboxing is taught by Muay Thai world champions Jesse and Colton Bird. New students can try classes free for two weeks, open to adults and to kids from age 3.
