Bad wolf MMA serves the Nashville mixed martial arts community from its facility at 119 Douglas St. in Madison, Tennessee. Training is taught by the school's instructor, who brings 36 years of continuous grappling experience that began at age 6 in the Lakota youth wrestling program, continued with NCAA Division I wrestling at Ohio University under coach Harry Houska and serving as captain of the Ohio University Boxing Team, and expanded into Gracie Jiu-Jitsu after college. The academy holds that students should be proficient in multiple forms of striking and grappling and teaches three disciplines: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, and Wrestling. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program uses the traditional street and fight style, focusing on dominant positions from which students can strike an opponent and teaching how to defend oneself on the ground. The boxing class teaches proper technique and tactics and includes contact sparring with 14-16oz gloves, while Wrestling classes teach takedowns, mat wrestling, hand fighting, and footwork, and a free private lesson is available.
